About the location: Your week begins in the charming town of Tavel,
the site of the premiere Rosé wine in France,
in the midst of the best wine-growing region in the Rhone. You will explore and taste not only the famous Rosé of Tavel, but
some of the top-ranked wines of Chateauneuf du Pape. You will also follow the "cotes du Ventoux" on the slope of the
Mont Ventoux to discover these wonderful, if lesser-known, vineyards. In addition, Tavel's
position lends itself to numerous excursion possibilities:
it is on the border of two regions—Languedoc-Roussillon and Provence—and the famous towns of Avignon, Nimes, Orange,
and the Pont du Gard are
no more than a half hour easy drive from your accommodations. Your base will be the lovely, fully renovated B&B
Jardin de Bacchus. The Jardin de Bacchus has just 3 rooms, guaranteeing an intimate stay, and is
within easy walking
distance of the center of Tavel. Tavel itself is a village of a little over 1000 inhabitants but boasts
4 wonderful restaurants, plenty of dining choices should you decide to stay close to home for your meals. With the Jardin de
Bacchus as your base, you will be able to visit some of the most interesting and
characteristic wineries of the Southern Rhone Valley.

Christine is originally from Avignon, and she will ensure you have an amazing stay. (If you would like to add on a hands-on cooking class during your stay,
Christine will accommodate you in their lovely, traditional Provencal kitchen.)

Itinerary
Day One

- Arrival on day on after 4 pm (a private transfer can be arranged).

Wine and Cheese evening with your hosts.

Day Two
- Breakfast around 8:30 AM.
- 9:30 pickup for your day in Tavel and Chateauneuf du Pape. You will enjoy visits to some of the premier wineries of the area.
- Time for lunch on your own.

Return around 5:30 pm, and evening free. You may want to walk into Tavel (just a few minutes away by foot) for dinner.

Day Three
- Breakfast around 8:30 AM.

Pickup around 9:30 for a day in Ventoux area, including a wonderful picnic lunch.

Back at 6 pm, and evening free.

Day Four
- Breakfast at your leisure and departure.
